Love Letter to No.1

You broke.

I spent hours sculpting your existence, bringing you to life, and you broke.

It was through no fault of your own. You were stuck to the banding wheel on which I had carved you laboriously, and you had no choice but to break.

In your breaking you taught me more than I could have asked for. More than I thought would have been possible.

Especially since my prior patterns would have been to reclaim and use your clay for something else entirely.

But this time, you didn’t let me reshape you into something else. You stuck with me while the water seeped back in and your essence once again became malleable. And I tried you again.

And again.

And again!

And you taught me a lesson in the value of repetition. And you brought forth more shapes and sizes than I had anticipated myself creating.

And now, I can’t stop making them.

I don’t want to stop making them!

From you, 5 more have already come into existence. From you, many more will be made.

Thank you!

With Love,
